We Have Arrived!

What a difference one day makes! We arrived in Panama City late last night, successfully cleared customs and immigration and made it to La Estancia, the bed & breakfast we're staying at. We woke to the sounds of very chatty local birds. Our hosts served us a yummy breakfast on the veranda where we got to watch brightly colored birds, doves and vultures in the nearby trees. We've already taken our first hike to the top of Cerro Ancon where we got to see a few monkeys, and came back to relax. It's hot and humid so we're taking it easy and contemplating what we Want and Don't Want to do. Luckily both Dad & I are leaning towards the relaxing agenda and not running all over the city. Tonight we can either go to a restaurant that has a traditional Panamanian dancing show, or we can walk down the street and go to an outdoor music festival by the water. Hmmm.... options! Dad said he's really glad we're here and I am, too. We'll see what kinds of adventures we can have over the next three weeks.

So far Dad & I have been able to enjoy good conversation, and we're learning to look at things from a distance instead of focusing in on the details that bog us down. How refreshing!
